Adobe’s New HTML5 Video Player Widget, It’s Kind Of A Big Deal

"Adobe, which has been at the focal point of what seems like the never ending Apple induced saga surrounding Flash plugins vs. HTML5 video tags, announces its entry into the HTML5 space today, just in time for the new initially Flash-less MacBook Air.
In addition to its Flash products, Adobe offering up a widget that enables the creation of HTML5 videos using the Kaltura HTML5 media library, which allows browsers that don’t have HTML5 support to fall back on Flash."

Chef Cat Cora and the Muppets Whip Up Delicious Fun

Chef Cat Cora and the Muppets Whip Up Delicious Fun

The Muppets Kitchen with Cat CoraLooking for creative ways parents and kids can enjoy food, menu planning, and cooking together? Grab an apron and check out two new original Web series that offer an entertaining twist on making memorable meals – "The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora" on Disney.com offers deliciously crazy fun. For moms, "Hasty Tasty Cooking Tips with Cat Cora and the Muppets" on Disney Family.com features professional cooking tips and easy recipes with kid appeal. Celebrity Chef Cat Cora stars in both series with the Muppets, whose classic comedy adds a dash of mayhem to any main course.

Born into a family of restaurateurs, Catherine "Cat" Cora began cooking at an early age and, at 15 years old, penned a business plan to open her first eatery. Two restaurants, numerous television appearances, and many accolades later, she maintains a straightforward philosophy about her career path. "It's exciting for me because I'm able to share what I've learned over the years with families around America. I believe in teaching people to have a quality of life around food the way chefs do ... and that's exactly what we're doing with the 'Muppets Kitchen' and 'Hasty Tasty.'"

Both series feature recipes, cooking tips, nutritional guides, and related information so families can rediscover together time through the joys of food. Cat says, "We want to let people know cooking isn't just another chore ... it's something everyone can really have fun with. Parents need to realize getting the kids involved is important, especially with today's issues around nutrition and child obesity. We must all work together to solve this crisis." Visiting either site is sure to inspire families to jump on the gravy train in an effort to find easy, edible solutions that work for them – preferably with a side of yummy mashed potatoes.

Adding silliness, spice, and everything nice to any meal, Cat's Muppet sidekick is Angelo, a chef with a flair for cooking up chaos. Culinary fun gets even funnier when Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, Pepe the King Prawn, and other Muppet pals pop in for some tasty treats.

"The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora" offers a smorgasbord of mealtime-themed videos, tips, printable recipes, and even posters to encourage fun while serving up some of the greatest grub ever to grace a dinner table. Why not score big on game day with veggie pita pizzas, seven-layer dip, cheesesteak sammies, and peanut butter brownie cupcakes? Or, keep them on the edge of their seats with a movie night feast of tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons, Greek hot dogs, and trail mix popcorn. Hungry tummies will be thankful for their fill of slumber party fare, the world's biggest sandwich, breakfast, and birthday goodies that are as delicious as the how-to videos are entertaining.

Created specifically for parents, "Hasty Tasty Cooking Tips with Cat Cora and the Muppets" is a series of short video episodes that provide printable step-by-step recipes, helpful tips, nutritional guides, and fun ways to get kids excited about cooking. Give your family's cuisine a kick-start with lemon-pecan pancakes, egg-straordinary wraps, mini Greek burger gyros, Mediterranean pinwheel hummus wraps, watermelon gazpacho, frozen yogurt banana pops, and more. For moms on the go (and who isn't these days?), "Hasty Tasty" has a mobile Web site featuring videos, recipe lists, and a "Hasty Tasty Memory Game." Just text HASTY to DISNEY (347639)* or visit Family.com/HastyTasty for access.

As a chef and mother of four boys, Cat says mealtime is family time at her house. "Try these recipes! They're geared for families to be quick, easy to make, and healthy. Ingredients can be purchased at local grocery stores and are all kid-friendly, so little ones can help. The more involved they are, they more likely they'll eat. I hope 'Muppets Kitchen' and 'Hasty Tasty' inspire more families to get creative in their own kitchens!"

What's Cat's favorite part of doing the webisodes? "Having fun with the Muppets! I adore them and we've gotten to be really good friends. Aside from creating some really great memories, it's just fun cooking with them. My kids love it, and I know all the families in America are going to love them too." Muppet Pepe the King Prawn pipes in, "The great thing about 'The Muppets Kitchen' is that it's like having Cat Cora come into your house and cook for you. How incredible is this?"

Visit "The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora" and "Hasty Tasty Cooking Tips with Cat Cora and the Muppets" to see just how incredible for yourself!

HOW TO MEASURE THE WISDOM OF A CROWD

via Discovery News:

"The "intelligence" of a group can be measured, according to a new study, and it has little to do with the brain power of its individual members.

What makes a team more intelligent has more to do with the group's interactions. More equal participation and greater social sensitivity on the part of its members are the key factors in predicting a group's intelligence, according to the study, published online today by the journal Science."
